The story begins in a city carved into the side of a mountain, a city named High Steps. To those who live here, advanced technology is used in everyday settings. However, the people aren't the only ones who make use of this technology. A race of dragon-like creatures called datadrakes populate this world, an though they are native of steel and wires, purely inorganic.
Together, humans and datadrakes live in peace, but a new threat faces them both: an aggressive, alien race called the Nightfall Legion that wishes to conquer humanity and assimilate datadrakes into their army. Can humanity and datadrakes triumph together?
